A little tradition

This year we discovered Black Island Farms and I've officially added it to our yearly fall outings list (it's now documented. That makes it an actual tradition. We now have two actual traditions to our family name.)

Anyone up in Davis County needs to head thataway. It's so fantastic! There are a million kid activities, all staged on this rad old farm, all made out of farm-y stuff... love love love it.

The wagon/pumpkin picture combo. Classic. Can't get much cuter.

They also have a farmer's market and some booths as you're walking through so you can get all your fresh autumn veggies.

Milo was sold on the tractors of course.
There were a couple of giant hay climbs with big slides down each end. Milo was dripping in sweat by the time we were done.

A little drum action, please.
This cow train may have just been meant for the kids. But who am I to deprive Henry of the fun just because he doesn't know how to hold on quite yet?
The corn box. Best invention ever. Better than sand, just as fun.
And yummy food. Is this the prettiest curly fry wreath you've ever seen? Smothered in cheese? Oh my.
Just about the most fun I've had this fall.
P.S. Bought a new roadie. After the farm we took it for a little inaugural ride- 25 miles for our first outing. It was a little rough there at the end and the padding on my bike shorts was not nearly thick enough.

It's not supposed to be pretty...

The happiest $10 ever spent. Ryker and Milo were all over the haunted house decorating plan as soon as they found out it involved building something and then smothering it in candy. It started out fine enough, with me in control of the frosting and the boys doing the decorating.

A little taste here and there...

And then its only a matter of time before the clothes start coming off and everything is coated in orange and black.

Scary.
