This weekend the Radfords and the Olsons completed a goal we all set back in July- to all do a triathlon together, spouso y spouso. It was the Turkey Tri in Orem- 5 k run, 10 mi bike, 350 M swim. Backwards, yes, because who really wants to swim first and then go run/bike outside in November? Not I.
This was maybe one of the most fun things I've done with Will. I loved starting the race with him, wondering how he was doing the whole time (and knowing he was killing it), and having him cheer for me at the finish. My favorite was when he ran with me to the swim and would cheer me on at each lap, telling me "3 to go! 1 to go!" Most of my motivation to continue to race after this is based on the fact that I know he will be rooting for me the whole time, being my cheerleader. I love it.
Will beat his time last year by three minutes, coming in at 1:01. He runs so fast. I can only keep up if he's pushing both kids in the jogger, hasn't eaten, and has plantar fasciitis.
This was my second tri, and my goal was to get under 1:20... I came in at 1:20:01! One second! Bah. I'm counting it.
There aren't a lot of action shots since we were all active participants, but here are some before and afters.
So so so fun. Next up... a 10K in San Diego on Thanksgiving and a 1/2 marathon in February (also in San Diego- I need the lower elevation.)

Wow, go you!! The very thought of a triathalon makes me want to toss my cookies. I've talked my husband into training for one but you won't see me lining up at any starting lines.
