Party like its Ninteen-Ninety-Memorial Day

Who knew Memorial Day could be so much fun? It has officially climbed the ranks in my favorite holiday list, beating Valentine's Day and even New Years (though it remains below the 24th of July- having an extra holiday no one else gets is too wonderful to be surpassed).

This weekend was busy but fantastic! We booked it down to St. George on Satuday with the Olsen's and some of their family (I don't have any pics of them; see their blog link- I'm sure Janelle will post some good stuff). It was beautifully warm, and anytime I'm surrounded by palm trees I get giddy and start to hyperventilate a little. We stayed in a condo which is definitely the way to go with the kids. We had some pool time and went mountain biking (Janelle and I have some pretty sweet bruises), then on Sunday we went to Zion and climbed Angel's Landing (Will and my second time, Milo's first). It is such a beautiful hike, and the good news is I didn't have a panic attack from the heights this time. Always a good thing.

Apparently I need to get Milo a swing STAT cause he loves it.

This little play area/pool/tennis courts/volleyball was right outside our condo- awesome!

I was really hoping I didn't die on the hike cause I was so so TIRED...
but I think I rocked it pretty well. At least Will packed up Milo in the backpack.

Walter's Wiggles! It's my favorite part! I giggle the whole time.

Colorado Kingsnake- we Googled it. No big deal. We almost died.

Walter's Wiggles from the top down.
That's a fuzzy little caterpillar that is making our son so happy.

Okay, enough pictures of us. Here's the view:

So, because of my fear of falling off a cliff to my death, I didn't go across the ridge to the actual landing. There was a spot for people to stop with their kids while the crazy ones went on ahead and risked their lives. So of course Will went, along with the rest of the guys. Below is the ridge you cross up to the landing. No big deal that it's only 3-4 feet wide in some spots, with a shear drop on either side, and a chain you can hold onto for a little "extra safety." Jeeze.

This is Will's view from the landing. I was looking at it and said, "Wait a second. Is that piece of rock the edge?!?! Seriously!" At least he has a life insurance policy in place for me.

After Zion, we rushed home for a family reunion breakfast and the NO DOUBT concert that night. Oh, JEEZE that was fun. I'll get some pics up of that cause we loved it. I heart Gwen with all my heart.

P.S. Memorial Day is the best.
