Halloween

W e had a low-key little Halloween party this year- just some food, games, and a classic showing of The Shining after the kids went to bed. It was the first year we dressed up Milo, and with a little convincing that wearing strange things is awesome, he was down. He was a scuba diver (he refused to wear the goggles though), Will was a lobster, and I was a jellyfish. For some reason I always feel like I need to make our costumes instead of buy them. I don't think in 7 Halloweens with Will I've ever bought a whole costume, from the store, all ready to go. It doesn't even come out to be cheaper in the end, and it's more work, and most of the time it looks a little silly. Maybe I just like the hot-glued together makeshift look of everything. Plus Martha Stewart always shows me how.

Come on now, that's the most fantastic lobster I've ever seen.

The Sartori's showed tribute to Star Wars...

While the Grants paide homage to Star Trek.
And the Olsons were two pirates and a little monkey. So cute!

I love it! I have already downloaded 'Will the lobster' as my desktop. I'm the same about making costumes. It is not that much cheaper, but it is fun.
